Pay per check, from a prepaid wallet

There is no subscription, no monthly minimum and no per-seat fee. You fund an IDEX wallet and each verification draws its price from the balance. Every figure below is read from the platform as this page loads, so it is the same figure the dashboard quotes and the wallet charges. Published rates start at ₦65.00 a check.

Rates published, services awaiting activation

These are the rates that will apply once a service is activated. No service in the catalogue is chargeable yet, so no wallet can be debited for one today. Prices are in naira and are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.

The six bands, and who each one is for

A band is a property of your account and the way you submit, not something you choose at checkout. IDEX sets it, and you can see which one applied on every receipt.

IDEX pricing bands and who each one applies to
Band Who it is for How it is applied
Individual Personal accounts running occasional checks. The default published rate. Every account starts here.
Agent Registration agents, cyber cafés and bureaux serving walk-in customers. Applied once IDEX sets your account type to agent, after you tell us how you operate.
Business Registered companies verifying customers during onboarding, KYC or payout checks. Applied to accounts registered as a business, from the dashboard and the API alike.
Enterprise Banks, lenders, fintechs and platforms with sustained, contracted volume. Set under an agreement, and usually combined with negotiated per-service rates.
API Anything submitted programmatically with an API key. Applied to API traffic whatever band your account sits in, because a call is priced per request rather than per session.
Bulk Batch submissions large enough to reach a published volume threshold. Applied automatically when a single request covers at least the number of lookups in the band.

Only one band is ever applied to a check. Where more than one could apply, a negotiated rate on your account wins, then the API rate, then a bulk band, then your account band.

Price per check, by service

Every active service and every standard band. A dash means that band is not published for that service, in which case the individual rate applies unless we have agreed otherwise.

Bulk volume bands

A bulk band applies when one submission covers at least the number of lookups shown. The platform picks the most generous band the volume actually reaches — you do not ask for it, and you are never moved into a band your volume did not earn.

Bulk bands are compared against the business rate above for reference only; the band you would otherwise have paid depends on your account. Sustained monthly volume above these thresholds is normally better handled as a negotiated rate — ask us for a quote.

What affects the price you pay

Three things, and all of them are visible to you before you submit.

Your account type

Individual, agent, business or enterprise. It is set by IDEX from what you tell us about how you operate, it is shown on your profile, and it decides which published band applies to a check you submit from the dashboard.

How you submit, and how much

A check submitted with an API key is priced at the API rate, and a batch large enough to reach a published volume threshold is priced at that bulk band. Both are applied automatically by the platform rather than claimed by you.

Any rate IDEX has agreed with you

A negotiated per-service rate recorded against your account overrides every published band, including API and bulk. Negotiated rates are confidential to your account and are never shown on this page — you see yours in the dashboard and on each receipt.

Enterprise and API integration

If you are integrating IDEX into an onboarding flow, a lending decision or a payout check, the published bands are a starting point rather than the answer. Tell us the services you need, the volume you expect and the response times you have to meet, and we will put a rate and a written scope in front of you.

  • Negotiated per-service rates recorded against your account
  • REST API with scoped keys, and usage visible per key
  • Consolidated wallet, ledger and per-reference audit trail
  • A named contact, and a straight answer on what is ready and what is not

Pricing questions

The things customers ask before they fund a wallet.

Do these prices include VAT?
No. Every price published on this page is exclusive of VAT unless a figure is explicitly stated as VAT inclusive. Where VAT applies to your account it is shown separately on the invoice rather than folded into the per-check price, so the amount you compare against another provider is the amount that leaves your wallet for the check itself.
Which price will I actually be charged?
The one shown to you before you submit. IDEX resolves a price once — a negotiated rate on your account first, then the API rate if the request came through an API key, then any bulk band the request qualifies for, then your account band, then the individual rate — and the same resolved figure is quoted, debited and printed on the receipt. There is no second calculation anywhere in the platform.
How is my wallet actually deducted?
Verifications are paid for from a prepaid naira wallet. When you submit a check, IDEX records it and debits the wallet in a single database transaction before calling the provider, so a charge can never exist without a matching verification record or a matching ledger entry. If your balance is short, the check is refused up front and nothing is recorded or debited.
Does a failed lookup cost anything?
It depends on why it failed, and the four cases are treated differently. A submission that fails validation never reaches a provider and is never charged. A service that is not yet activated is refused before your wallet is touched. A provider that does not answer in time leaves the check pending, and it is reconciled against the provider and refunded automatically if it turns out never to have completed. The fourth case — the provider answered, but there is no record matching the details you supplied — is the one governed by our not-found refund policy.
What is the not-found refund policy?
A search that returns nothing is still work a data provider performed, so whether it is refundable is a commercial position rather than a technical one. IDEX holds that position as a single platform-wide setting rather than deciding case by case, and its standing default is to refund the charge in full, automatically, to the wallet it came from. Where an upstream contract requires IDEX to bill for a search that returns nothing, the position for that service is stated on the verification form before you submit. Either way the outcome, the amount and any refund appear against the reference in your history and on the ledger.
How do refunds reach me?
A refund is credited back to the same IDEX wallet as a separate ledger entry against the original reference, normally within seconds of the outcome being settled. Refunds are not paid out to a bank account, and the original debit is not erased: you keep both entries, which is what makes the balance auditable.
Can I get a better rate?
Yes, on volume or under an agreement. IDEX can set a negotiated per-service rate on an individual account, which then takes precedence over every published band including the API and bulk rates. Tell us the services you need and the monthly volume you expect and we will quote in writing.
Can prices change?
They can. Published bands are reviewed as provider costs change, and the current figures are always the ones on this page and in your dashboard, because both read the same records. Accounts on a negotiated rate are given notice under their agreement before it is altered.
